Introduction

PeerDrop’s Privacy Policy describes how PeerDrop will gather, use and maintain your Personal Information on the PeerDrop Platform. It will also explain your legal rights with respect to that information.

By using the PeerDrop Application, you confirm that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and Our Agreement of Transactions that administers the use of the PeerDrop Platform. PeerDrop will collect, use, and maintain information consistent with the Agreement.

Basic Terminologies

Below are the general terms of our Privacy Policy:

  • PeerDrop may be referred to as "PeerDrop," “we,” “our,” or “us.”
  • We call a user of the PeerDrop Platform “User,” “Users,” “you,” “your,” or “Patron” and “Peer,” as appropriate.
  • The website platform is www.PeerDrop.com
  • The mobile applications (iOS and Android) are referred to as the “Apps.”
  • PeerDrop’s Sites, Apps and related services, information and communications are collectively referred to as the “PeerDrop Platform.”
  • “Terms and Conditions” or “Terms of Service” refers to our Platforms Terms & Conditions, which can be found here. This Privacy Policy is a part of the Terms & Conditions.

PeerDrop's Data Holding Policy

We hold your personal data for as long as you are a User of our app in order to meet our quality, training and service obligations towards you in addition to the period as may be required in our legitimate interests and to comply with our legal obligations. We may also hold data from which you cannot explicitly be identified, for example where stored against a uniquely-generated identifier so we know the data relates to a certain user, but we cannot tell who that user is. We use this kind of data for research purposes and to help us develop and improve our services, and we take relevant needed measures to ensure you cannot be re-identified from this data.

Information We Collect

PeerDrop collects certain personal information about you, including information that is reasonably capable of being associated with you (“Information”). Examples of Information that PeerDrop collects include but are not limited to:

Personal Identity: In order to ensure best levels of service, we would carry out identity checks. If you are a Peer, we may collect Personal Information, such as your date of birth and address, photographic id, together with the result of basic record checks as provided by you, or by our Third Party if applicable and to the extent permitted by law in your jurisdiction, to validate your identity.

Financial: In order to assist Peers set up a payment account and help Patrons make payments to Peers and pay fees to PeerDrop, we may collect financial information, including credit card number, bank account numbers and other payment information, where applicable. We obtain Financial Information in order to operate the PeerDrop Platform and to ensure that Peers are paid by Patrons. We do this as necessary for our legitimate interests in providing our platform and services and to fulfill our contracts with Users. To ensure the integrity and security of your financial data, we have contracted a third party (STRIPE) to maintain and process your payment card information.

Contact: This may include your first last name, postal address, phone number & email id.

Billing: This may include your payment instrument number (such as a credit or debit card number), expiration date, and security code as necessary to process your payments. This will be processed through the third party Payment Gateway ‘STRIPE’. You are subject to their Terms and Conditions as well.

Promotions: PeerDrop Platforms offer certain tools such as newsletters, surveys, emails for ensuring best service to users however these are optional and therefore you are not required to enter them or any your data in connection with them. Where you do consent to take advantage of PeerDrop Platform offers, we will use your data where applicable, to send you communications that are customized based on information we have about you, or to operate and manage the survey, contest or similar offering in connection with our legitimate interest in promoting our business and the PeerDrop Platform. To opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us, please email us mentioning you would like to opt out.

Other Data. In the event where you choose to send PeerDrop Personal Information in an email or chat service for enquiries about PeerDrop platform, we use this Information in order to help us respond to you in an efficient manner. We may also collect content within any communication you carry out with other Users through the Service (such as via our chat function) and we never use or share such information for marketing purposes.

Setup Info: We require you to furnish your Financial and Identity Information when you register an account with us in order to start using Our services.

And if you are a Peer, we collect your first and last name, email address, mobile phone number, post code, and current location in order to create and administer your PeerDrop account and facilitate communications between you and your Patrons through the Platform. We also collect Identity Information and Financial Information.

If you are a Patron, we would need your first and last name, email address, phone number and your post code in order to create and manage your PeerDrop account. We also collect additional information in order to facilitate your drop request, such as list of items on the order you are requesting, time, date, location of the order, and Billing Information.

Default information Collection

We gather certain information on default when you utilize our Service. The categories of information we will automatically gather are as follows:

Device Information: including data about your type of device or browser, your device’s OS, your ISP, your device’s regional and language settings, and device identifiers such as IP address etc. When you connect and interact with the PeerDrop Platform, PeerDrop may gather information automatically through cookies or other technologies, including, but not limited to, the type of computer or mobile device you use, your mobile device’s unique device ID, the IP address of your computer or mobile device, your OS, the type(s) of internet browser(s) you use, and information about the way you use the PeerDrop Platform (“Device Information”). We may use Device Information to monitor the geographic regions from which Users navigate the PeerDrop Platform, and for security and fraud prevention purposes. PeerDrop prohibits the use of any IP-masking technology or similar technology. Upon identification of the usage of such technologies, some sections and features of the PeerDrop Platform may become unavailable and unusable.

Location Information: including imprecise location data (such as location derived from an IP address or data that indicates a city or postal code level), and, with your consent, precise location data (such as latitude/longitude data). When you visit the PeerDrop Platform via a native mobile application, we use, with your consent when required under applicable law, GPS technology (or other similar technology) to determine your current location in order to determine the city you are located in and display a relevant location map.

Activity Data, including data about your activity on the PeerDrop platform, features you use, pages you visit, emails and advertisements you view, sections of the PeerDrop Platform that you view and interact with, the time of day you browse, and your referring and exiting pages.

Cookies. When you visit our Site, your browser may automatically gather information of your visit. Similarly, when you use our mobile applications, we will access and use mobile device IDs to identify your device. We use “cookies” and similar technologies to gather information through our Site and Apps. Cookies are small data files stored on your device that act as a unique tag to identify your browser.

Persistent cookies help with personalizing your experience, remembering your preferences, and supporting security features. Additionally, persistent cookies allow us to bring you advertising both on and off the Platform. Persistent cookies may remain on your device for extended periods of time, and generally may be controlled through your browser settings. We utilize persistent cookies that only PeerDrop can read and use, and access mobile device IDs to:

  • save your login information for future logins to the PeerDrop Platform;
  • help in processing items during checkout;
  • hold session information;
  • track user preferences.

Unlike persistent cookies, session cookies are deleted from your computer when you log off from the PeerDrop Platform and then close your browser. You can instruct your browser, by changing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit. If you do not accept cookies, however, you will not be able to use all portions or all functionalities of the PeerDrop Platform.

PeerDrop's Use of Data

We collect and use information for business and commercial purposes in accordance with the practice described in this Privacy Policy. This includes but not limited to:

  • We use various background checks on users of our application including many identification checks, criminal records checks, if allowed and permitted by the local authorities, for our legal interests in order to ensure the safety of our users. Given the fact that peers often interact directly with patrons the checks in place can help in prevention and detection of any unlawful acts.
  • To analyze PeerDrop Platform usage as necessary for our legitimate interest in improving the PeerDrop Platform to grow our business.
  • Peerdrop ensures fraud prevention & troubleshooting problems by providing a secure platform for Peers and Patrons where both parties can connect to conduct business, and in order to comply with our legal obligations.
  • In order to fulfill our commitment with Peers and Patrons we collect the data to provide customer support.
  • To connect with our users (via SMS, Emails, Push Notifications, or by any other means),and to provide information related to transactions, marketing and administrative notices, valuable offers and many relevant information to use our Peerdrop platform as effectively as possible with your consent under the applicable law. To engage and communicate with our users as well as to promote business.
  • For our legitimate interest by researching the market for our Peerdrop Platform to grow, for promoting good and healthy relations among users and to aid users in the resolution of any disputes and complaints.
  • To impose and execute our Terms & Conditions and our legitimate interests in ensuring our Agreement is complied with.

Analytics and Market Analysis: Peerdop may analyze relevant information (‘Customer and Market Analysis’) as necessary as our legitimate interests in engaging and improving our User’s experience, and for the boosting and development of Peerdrop Platform.

Peerdrop uses the information to provide valuable offers to the customer that shows keen interest towards the offers, or presumably have an interest based on our (‘Customer and Market Analysis’). We do this as necessary for our legitimate interests in engaging and providing a better customer experience, and to promote our business.

Mobile Phone Numbers. PeerDrop may use the cellphone number to call or send recurring text message, in order to provide you notifications about the status of Orders, for marketing purposes (with your consent where required by law),and to administer Peerdop Platform. . PeerDrop may also message you via push notifications (with your consent when required under applicable law), which you can opt-out of on your mobile.

Information Sharing

We only share the Information we collect about you as described in this Privacy Policy or as described at the time of collection or sharing, including as follows:

Third Party Reps. We share information, including Identity Information, with entities that process information on our behalf for our business purposes. Third Party Reps assist us with services such as payment processing, data analytics, marketing and advertising, website hosting, fraud prevention and detection, communication services, and technical support. We contractually prohibit our Third Party Reps from retaining, using, or disclosing information about you for any purposes other than performing the services for us, although we may permit them to use information that does not identify you (including information that has been aggregated or de-identified) for any purpose except as prohibited by applicable law. To operate the PeerDrop Platform, including processing your transactions, we may share your information with our Reps/representatives (“Third Party Reps”) so they can provide us with support services like Financial transaction completion (currently managed by Elavon, Global Payments, and Transferwise that processes your information in accordance with its own privacy policy) and related chargeback and collection services; and a standard background & id check.

Legal Obligations: PeerDrop and our Third Party Reps may disclose information or User Generated Content, including location data or communication data, to a third party if required or permitted to do so by law or pursuant to a court order, warrant or subpoena. PeerDrop reserves the right to disclose Personal Information from both private and public areas of the Site(s) and the PeerDrop Platform in the absence of a court order, warrant or subpoena, to the extent permitted by applicable law, if we are given reason to believe, in our sole discretion, that someone is causing injury to or interfering with the rights of Users, the general public, or PeerDrop or its partners, parents or affiliates.

Notices to users: It is our policy to provide notice to Users before producing their information in response to law enforcement requests unless (i) we are prohibited or otherwise constrained by law or court order from doing so, (ii) we have reason to believe the User’s account has been compromised such that the notice would go to the wrong person, or notice would otherwise be counterproductive or would create a risk to safety, or (iii) it is an emergency request and prior notice would be impractical (in which case we may provide notice after the fact).

Disclosure to Authorities: PeerDrop may be required to share your Personal Information in response to lawful requests by public and law enforcement authorities.

Promotions: When you voluntarily enter a sweepstakes, contest, or other promotion, we share information as set out in the official rules that govern the promotion as well as for administrative purposes and as required by law (e.g., on a winners’ list). By entering a promotion, you agree to the official rules that govern that promotion, and may, except where prohibited by applicable law. We may occasionally contact you, if you want us to, with information about special events, activities, promotions, contests, submission opportunities, and programs. You always have the ability, in your Account, to ask PeerDrop not to contact you with this type of information.

Other Users: PeerDrop facilitates contact between Patrons and Peers and reserves the right to share a Peer’s contact information (e.g. name, phone number, or postal address) with a Patron and vice versa, or with their legal or other representative, in order to facilitate: (1) the resolution of a dispute related to or arising from an interaction between two or more Users of the PeerDrop Platform; or (2) the completion of an Order. This exchange of information is a mandatory part of the PeerDrop Platform.

User’s Rights

You may withdraw from receiving promotional communications from us and our business partners, remove your personal information from our database or just delete your account by contacting us through our website or in app Contact us tab.

Profile Changes: You have the right to view and update your PeerDrop Profile at any time by logging in the app and tap on “Account”. There, you can view and change your Account information. Our databases automatically update any changes you make.

Account Settings. During registration you choose whether you would like to receive marketing communication from PeerDrop and its affiliates. This information remains on your Profile where you can edit it. After logging in, tap on the “Account”, then select “Notifications” to update your preferences.

Push Notifications. You have the option to receive updates and relevant offers via push notifications in your app. These notifications can be configured in the settings of your mobile device.

Promotional Notifications. You can withdraw from receiving promotional notifications from PeerDrop sent via email and texts by contacting us and push notifications in account settings as mentioned earlier.

Cookies. Most browsers accept cookies by default. You can make changes in the browser settings, to decline or delete cookies. If you use multiple browsers on your device, you will need to instruct each browser separately. Your ability to limit cookies is subject to your browser settings and limitations.

Location Settings. We use location settings to help you with in app features like order request and delivery which is needed for the app to work however you can stop all collection of information by uninstalling the app.

Information Security

Your PeerDrop account is password-protected so that only you and designated PeerDrop team member have access to your account information. In order to maintain this protection, do not give your password to anyone else. If you share a device with anyone, we suggest you should sign out of your PeerDrop account. This will help protect your information entered on public terminals from disclosure to third parties. Please note that Peerdrop will never ask for your password on a phone call or any other communication. PeerDrop has a team dedicated to maintaining its Privacy Policy, methodically reviewing security, and ensuring that every PeerDrop employee is aware of our security practices. However it must be noted that transmission via the internet is not fully secure and we cannot guarantee the security of information about you.

Changes to Privacy Policy

PeerDrop's Privacy Policy is regularly reviewed and improved as and when needed. This Privacy Policy may change as PeerDrop updates and expands the PeerDrop Platform. PeerDrop will endeavor to notify you of any material changes by email. PeerDrop also encourages you to review this Privacy Policy regularly. PeerDrop has a team dedicated to maintaining its Privacy Policy, methodically reviewing security, and ensuring that every PeerDrop employee is aware of our security practices. However it must be noted that transmission via the internet is not fully secure and we cannot guarantee the security of information about you.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or the manner in which we or our Third Party Reps treat your Personal Information, the practices of the Site, your dealings with the PeerDrop Platform, or if you have technical problems, you may contact us. PeerDrop's staff will aim to respond to all mail or email from Users with questions about privacy, including the types of Personal Information stored on the PeerDrop database, and requests to delete or rectify such Personal Information.
